Financial experts including HMP lawyer Cho Sang-yeon are to deliver a series of lectures in order to help workers who want to obtain college education. The lectures are given free, as a kind of “talent donation.” The Department of Financial Economics at Soongsil University was established in 2013 to give opportunity to workers who had entered into the workforce immediately after graduating high school, and who had over 3 years of work experience. Financial experts at private equity funds, research centers of securities companies and financial regulating agencies are taking an active part in the project by freely providing all the tuition as lecturers. As one of the teaching staff, Mr. Cho of HMP Law lectures on “Financial Institutions and Law”. The course is increasing in popularity, and last year there were 4 applicants for every enrollment slot.
